About Dumu
Why Dumu exists, the problem it solves, its mission and its long-term ambition — starting in Iraq.
Why Dumu exists
In most schools, student, attendance and behaviour records still live on paper or in disconnected spreadsheets. Parents find out about grades, fees or problems days late — if at all. Teachers grade by hand and chase communication across phone calls, paper notes and group chats. The school has no single, real-time view of how it is actually doing.
Dumu was built to connect these pieces into one record — so that what happens at school reaches the people who need to know, and so that the learning itself has a home in the same place.
What Dumu is
A school operating system built for Iraq: one app for students, teachers and parents, a dashboard for each school and a central console for Dumu — on one secure cloud platform, with Iraqi curricula, Iraqi identity documents and Arabic built in, and Kurdish on the way.
Dumu is not a digital copy of paper administration. It connects the operational side of a school with the learning experience: a library of government textbooks, learning games, interactive practice and AI assistants live in the same ecosystem as attendance, exams and fees.
Our mission
Make education accessible to every child — starting in Iraq and reaching the world — so every child can learn, grow and be encouraged to thrive.
How we think about education
Effort deserves recognition, not only mistakes: behaviour records count positive notes, and strong results earn real rewards.
Families are part of the school day. A parent should know today, not next week.
Language is access. Arabic, Sorani and Badini textbooks, an Arabic interface with full right-to-left design, and Kurdish to follow.
Trust is built from facts: strict isolation between schools, one account per person, an audit trail for every change.
Where we are going
Dumu starts in Baghdad, school by school, private and public, following the rhythm of the school year. The platform is built and working; the years ahead are about depth, reliability and reach — then the world.
Make education accessible to every child — starting in Iraq and reaching the world.
So every child can learn, grow and be encouraged to thrive.
